  The precursor n-octylammonium iodide (OAI; CAS Number: 60734-63-6) is used in the preparation of perovskite solar cells. Octylammonium cations have been used as encapsulating agents to produce modified methylammonium lead iodide perovskites resulting in highly efficient and stable solar cells (Jung et al., 2018).
