The ABX3 structure in lead-based perovskites is crucial for maintaining lattice stability and also enables excellent optoelectronic properties. Michael Saliba of the University of Stuttgart, Li Meng of Henan University and others used the LaMer model and in-situ optical microscopy to study the perovskite crystallization process.
The authors developed stable single-phase FAPbI3 perovskites by studying the [PbI6 ] 4 - template and the associated A- cation . Specifically, the added MACl promotes the crystallization of FAPbI without changing the [PbX ] 4 - skeleton .
In addition, MABr serves as a passivating agent for the film, producing stable FAPbI 3 films when exposed to air with a humidity of 45% . Finally, the energy conversion efficiency of the obtained solar cell was as high as 23.0% .
